CADI at Central Asian Environmental Forum in Tashkent

On 5 June – the UN World Environment Day – CADI was presented at the Central Asian International Environmental Forum (#CAIEF) in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). The conference aimed in strengthening cooperation on environment and sustainable development in Central Asia. Within a thematic session on biodiversity and protected areas, Jens Wunderlich, CADI coordinator of the Michael Succow Foundation, outlined the aims of the CADI project. These include the establishment of a regional desert secretariat. The panel discussion was also attended by representatives of UNEP-WCMC, the European Commission, IUCN and WCS Afghanistan.
